For mountain enthusiasts seeking to take their passion to the next level, our 4-day Toubkal Mount winter trek is the perfect opportunity. While climbing Toubkal is not a leisurely stroll, it also doesn’t require the expertise of a professional mountaineer. Rather, it falls somewhere in between – you should be reasonably fit and determined to make it to the summit. However, ascending Toubkal in winter requires specialized mountaineering equipment, such as walking poles, ice axes, and crampons.

Escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech with a 90-minute drive to the serene mountain village of Imlil, where our driver will pick you up from your hotel or riad.
Upon arrival in Imlil, you will meet your guide and embark on your adventure. The serious hike begins as you follow the uphill path, crossing the Mizane Valley and heading towards the shrine of Sidi Chamharouch – a convenient halfway point to rest and enjoy a picnic lunch.
The final leg of the hike will take you to the Toubkal refuge, where you will spend the night. Though basic, the refuge covers all your necessities, with a lounge area featuring a fireplace and heater to warm you up, as well as toilets and hot showers. The refuge is well-maintained and clean, providing a comfortable rest stop.
Our target for today is the Ouanoukrim twins, which are the second and third highest peaks in the High Atlas range, standing at the head of Mizan Valley. Trekking to these peaks not only offers breathtaking views of Toubkal mount but also provides a rigorous workout, preparing your body for the bigger hike ahead. After conquering the twins, we will head back to the Refuge to enjoy a well-deserved lunch.
The day we’ve been waiting for has arrived! We rise early and set out to climb Toubkal mount, with the ascent expected to take around three to four hours during the winter season.
As we steadily hike upward, the path becomes steeper, but our professional guides will assist you in finding safer routes to the summit. Though your feet may ache and your body may be exhausted, the magnificent view from the summit makes it all worthwhile.
As you look out from the top, peaks and snow-covered valleys stretch out before you to the north and south, offering breathtaking views of the Atlas Mountain Range and all of Morocco! After taking in the stunning scenery, we will retrace our steps back to the refuge.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the refuge, you will gather your belongings and prepare to make the journey back to Marrakech, passing through the village of Imlil along the way.
As you make your way down the mountain, you will have the opportunity to take in the stunning scenery one last time, including picturesque views of the Mizane Valley and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Once you reach Imlil, you will have the chance to explore the village and interact with the locals, learning more about their traditional way of life and perhaps even picking up some unique souvenirs to take home with you.
From there, you will continue on to Marrakech, where you can relax and reflect on the incredible journey you’ve just completed in the Atlas Mountains.
