Atlas Mountains Trekking & Mount Toubkal Guided Tours

Private guided treks from Marrakech — by the operators who live in these mountains

We don’t resell other operators’ tours. Our CFAMM-certified guides, muleteers, and cooks are all from the Imlil valley. Your trek is designed, led, and supported by the same team — from your Marrakech hotel door to the summit and back.

Why Trek With Us

We're not a booking platform. We're a locally-owned, locally-operated trekking company based in the mountains we guide.

Based in Imlil

Not in Marrakech, not online-only. Our office is in Imlil village — the trailhead for every Atlas trek. We live where we work.

Certified Guides

Every guide holds CFAMM certification from Tabant — the national standard for Moroccan mountain guiding.

Private & Tailored

Every trek is private to your group. We adjust routes, pace, and daily distances to your fitness, interests, and the season.

No Hidden Fees

All-inclusive means all-inclusive: guide, meals, transfers, accommodation, mules, water. The price you see is the price you pay.

Berber-Owned

Your guide, muleteer, and cook are all from local Berber communities. Your trek directly supports the families of the Imlil valley.

Licensed & Insured

Operating under License #16D/19 (Extra Mile Travel) with full operator insurance and Moroccan Ministry of Tourism authorization.

Atlas Mountains Trekking from Imlil — The Gateway to Toubkal

The Atlas Mountains stretch over 2,500 km across Morocco, but the High Atlas — home to Mount Toubkal (4,167 m), North Africa’s highest peak — is where serious trekking begins. Imlil, a Berber village at 1,740 m just 90 minutes from Marrakech, is the starting point for every major route: the 2-day Toubkal summit push, the scenic Azzaden Valley approach, multi-day circuits via Lake Ifni, and cultural valley treks through Berber villages where hospitality hasn’t changed in generations.

Guided Trekking with CFAMM-Certified Mountain Professionals

Since 2019, a licensed CFAMM guide has been mandatory for all trekking within the Toubkal National Park. Our guides are graduates of Morocco’s national mountain guide school in Tabant, trained in navigation, altitude management, first aid, and cultural interpretation. Every trek is private to your group and fully supported — your guide adjusts the route and pace daily based on conditions and your fitness, while muleteers carry all luggage between stops and a dedicated cook prepares fresh Moroccan meals at each camp. Trekking Year-Round — From Spring Wildflowers to Winter Summits

The Atlas Mountains are a year-round trekking destination. Spring (April–May) brings wildflowers and snowmelt waterfalls; summer offers long days at altitude while Marrakech bakes below; autumn delivers golden light and empty trails; and winter transforms the high peaks into a genuine alpine mountaineering challenge with crampons and ice axes above 2,500 m. Whether you’re a solo female trekker, a family with children, or a seasoned mountaineer eyeing the Ouanoukrim–Toubkal double summit, there’s a route and a season that fits.

What Our Trekkers Say

Sarah L.
Google Reviews · 4-Day Toubkal

Our guide was incredible — patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the mountains. The food was better than most Marrakech restaurants. The 4-day Toubkal trek was the highlight of our Morocco trip.

Emma K.
TripAdvisor · 3-Day Azzaden Route

I trekked solo as a woman and never once felt unsafe. Mohammed (my guide) made me feel like a respected guest everywhere we went. The Berber villages were the opposite of Marrakech — peaceful, warm, genuine.”

The Martinez Family
Google Reviews · 3 Valleys Trek

We brought our kids (9 and 12) on the 3 Valleys trek. The mule was a lifesaver for our youngest. Sleeping in Berber guesthouses was the adventure they still talk about months later. Perfectly organized.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a guide to trek in the Atlas Mountains?

Yes — a licensed CFAMM-certified guide has been mandatory since 2019 for all trekking within the Toubkal National Park. Gendarmerie checkpoints verify guide credentials. On all Imlil Trek tours, your guide is included.

How do I get from Marrakech to Imlil?

Imlil is 70 km south of Marrakech (~90 minutes). On all our tours, private round-trip Marrakech–Imlil transfers are included — we pick you up at your riad door. Full transport guide: Marrakech to Imlil.

How much does a trek cost?

All-inclusive packages from €160/person (2-day Toubkal, group 14+) to €690/person (6-day circuit, 2 people). Prices decrease with group size. Full breakdown: Morocco Trekking Cost Guide.

Is trekking in the Atlas safe?

Yes — the real risks are mountain-specific (altitude, weather, terrain), not security-related. The mandatory guide regulation, Gendarmerie checkpoints, and Berber hospitality make guided Atlas trekking one of the safest mountain experiences available. Read: Is Morocco Safe for Trekking?

When is the best time to visit?

April–May and September–October for the best conditions. Summer is hot in valleys but fine at altitude. Winter requires crampons above 2,500 m but offers empty trails. Full guide: Best Time to Trek.

Can I trek solo as a woman?

Absolutely — many of our trekkers are solo women. With a CFAMM guide, the mountain experience is the same for everyone. The Atlas is fundamentally different from the cities — Berber communities are respectful and welcoming.
